We met under a sky full of stars in Punta Gallinas in 2017.
We were both doing what we love most; guiding tourists to discover the magic of La Guajira. We didn’t know each other but the universe conspired for us to meet, fell in love and start an incredible journey together that led to the creation of PuraGuajira Travel. Is not just a job for us; is a mission to make you (and the people we work with) happy. Is a purpose that goes beyond each trip because we hope every one of you will talk positive things about the region that holds our love.
We are Esneider and Beatrice, nice to meet you!
Solidarity tourism is a way of traveling that is based on the respect of the travelers towards the people and places visited by a deeper approach to the reality of the country and positive cultural exchange between both parties. Contributing to the economic development of an area is for example to choose accommodation in places managed by the community, consuming fair trade products, and visiting and collaborating in solidarity projects that are carried out there. For us it is a way of traveling that has a positive impact on both sides, the communities visited and the traveler itself.
Do we really want to pass on an Earth that is covered in plastic?
Plastic pollution is everywhere, in our air, soil, rivers, oceans, beaches, and even in our drinking water. We use plastic for many reasons. It’s hard to avoid because it’s inexpensive, lightweight, and most of all... it’s convenient. But, the convenience and the savings aren’t really convenient or inexpensive. We are just sticking future generations with the bill and a big mess to try to clean up. Our commitment is to ban single-use plastic in all our tours and try to produce the minimum amount of rubbish possible.
